The Practice

Educational therapists are trained to provide assessment, intervention, remediation and teaching strategies to support all kinds of learners. Children who can benefit from Educational Therapy are those who have been diagnosed with a learning or processing difference, or who may be struggling in school and need a little extra help in a specific learning area.

My Approach

Kathryn Crump Educational Therapy is built on three pillars: Whole Child Support, Strengths-Based Learning, and Communication.

Children need to feel safe in order to be willing to take the risk of learning something new or challenging. I get to know each child as a whole and unique person, not just someone with a specific area of need. I encourage students to uncover and leverage their already present strengths. I also prioritize communication between parents/caregivers, teachers, and service providers. My goal is to help facilitate a cohesive support team both in and outside of the learning environment.

  • Educational therapists have extensive training and experience in learning disabilities and intervention strategies, assessment and case-management. Tutors are generally skilled in a specific subject matter, but without training in learning differences, assessment or interventions.

  • I strongly believe that excellent support can and should be accessible to all students. While services are not covered by insurance, if you are concerned about the cost of Educational Therapy, please let me know and we will discuss your options.
